Johnson’s General Knowledge Course!

JOHNSON’S GENERAL KNOWLEDGE COURSE (JGKC - Learning Time...Learning Ideas..!) Has Been THE TRUSTED POWERHOUSE OF GENERAL KNOWLEDGE STUDIES, SINCE 1990! For the kids to the grown ups its always been Johnson’s General Knowledge Course, whenever someone thought of General Knowledge (GK) & The Trusted General Knowledge Course!

The Founder Director of  Johnson’s General Knowledge Course, Mr.Johnson.V, has been in the field of GK Studies since his 3rd standard, as it was when he started to enter in the ‘Competitive General Knowledge’ Domain! From his childhood days he has been a voracious reader & accumulator of ‘Snippets Of Knowledge’ and, interestingly, he never stopped gathering ‘The Snippets’, ever! He participated in various competitive GK Exams, Quiz Competitions etc!

It is interesting to know that he was more interested in ‘Teaching’ GK, even in his school days, sometimes he himself doubling as the Quiz Master! Before his matriculation he was deeply in love with such varied topics as ‘Space’, ‘Time’, ‘Time Travel’, ‘Astrophysics’, ‘Mind’, ‘Psychology’, ‘Magic’, ‘History’, ‘Classics’ etc! As a Quiz Master he was excellent & he was even invited to ‘Conduct’ Quiz Programmes of various kinds – Children’s, Teen’s, Grownups etc!

Before his matriculation he could pretty well distinguish ‘Beatles’ from ‘Elvis’, Nadia Comaneci from Valintina Tereshkova, Bjorn Borg from Ice Berg, Liem Swei King from Rod Laver, Sputnik from Aryabatta, Walkie Talkies from Silent Talkies, Bruce Lee from Christopher Lee, U Boat from Catamaran, Atlantis from Atlantic, Uncle Tom from Uncle Sam, Eden from Aden, Bobby Fisher from Kingfisher, Kalidas from C.R Das, Stale Mate from Check Mate, Motilal Nehru from Jawaharlal Nehru, Time Machine from Time Warp, Don Quixote from Quasimodo, Dr. Watson from Dr. Jekyll, Lal Bahadur Sastry from Ravi Sastry, V.V. Giri from Chandra Giri etc! He just devoured anything & everything that came his way – It seemed he was deeply in love with GK! He bought books of GK & made a book of ‘His Own GK Collection’, which he secretly read & re read, a thousand times, enjoying the unique miserly feeling ‘Its ONLY he knew / had these things & no one around did / had!’

It is amazing to know that all these things he did in the ever wonderful field of GK & gathered GK from every nook & corner he could reach was when there was not even a single T.V Programme aired in his state, Kerala – It was a time when Keralites never saw a T.V station, even in the wildest of their dreams! It was also a time when most of the students doing their Masters in Physics heard ‘U Boat’, ‘Walkie Talkie’ & a hoard of other things for the first time in their life! And, even ‘Computer’, that too of its crudest forms (286, 386 etc!), entered India much after this time period when he was deep inside the Dream Land of GK!

When he started Johnson’s General Knowledge Course later in his life, in 1990, it was his ‘THIS PART OF LIFE’ which stood him in good stead! As he passionately loved Studying GK, he also passionately loved Teaching GK!
